I am a triathlete and runner from Colorado. I got into endurance sports about 6 years ago, shorty after joining the Air Force. I started off with running in 2012. My first race was the Air Force Half Marathon in 2013 and while I didn't train very well and my time wasn't great I fell in love with the race day experience and the camaraderie and support from fellow athletes. I focused on running for a couple years before I bought my first road bike in 2015, which led to my first (and only) duathlon in September 2015.
My husband and I both decided to start doing triathlons in 2016...even though neither of us knew how to swim. We took some lessons, trained hard and had a fun first triathlon season. We started with a mini distance and ended the season with the first Ironman 70.3 Ohio. We both love the challenge of training for triathlons and enjoy training together. Since starting triathlon in 2016 I have completed 6 70.3s, 4 sprints, and 2 mini distance triathlons.
I work full time as an electrical engineer and am also an officer in the Air Force Reserve. Training for triathlons has been a great way to relieve stress in a fun and healthy way and I look forward to racing for many years to come.
