Comeback kid and underdog. My near death experience provided me with clarity. I fully understand life is too short. Since then I dream big and pursue it with passion.
April 23, 2015, I was struck by a car traveling over 60 mph during a training ride. My friend died at the scene. I was transported by helicopter 60 miles to the Ohio State University Medical Center. I had always believed an Ironman distance triathlon was too much. I’m now on a journey to qualify for Hawaii.
My electrophysiologist believes I’m a miracle. I compete in endurance events despite my congenital (born with it) Type III heart block. No pacemaker or intervention. Decades of athletics and exercise building a strong cardiovascular system.
Anyone can achieve any goal they set and live any dream they dream. I aim to motivate and inspire others to believe and pursue their dreams.
