I am an age group triathlete and compete as a Clydesdale. I am a retired US Navy Submariner and currently work for the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab. I am an avid open water swimmer, and have completed multiple half Ironman distance triathlons and one full 140.6 (Ironman Wisconsin in 2017). I am racing Lake Placid next July. I suffered a deep vein thrombosis and survived a severe pulmonary embolism last January and my road to recovery has been long. I am not the fastest athlete, but I am committed and have never DNFed a race.
