After brain surgery in 2012 I realized that I could no longer play golf which was my passion due to double vision when I looked down. I began running as an outlet for my type A personality. I would go on to run 13 half marathons over the next two and a half years and in 2016 I ran the NYC Marathon. I needed a new challenge so with a little convincing from friends I began triathlon training with hopes of completing my first TRI in June of 2017. Instead I wound up having brain surgery number 2 in July of 2017. Thirteen months later I completed the first of my two 70.3 races at Ironman Maine 70.3. Earlier this year I found out that I have a small aneurysm in my brain that apparently has been there undetected for at least 2 years. So when I toe the line at Ironman Mont Tremblant in August os 2020 it will be after 2 brain surgeries and an aneurysm. I have fueled with Infiinit only throughout my triathlon training.
