I am 42 years old and happily married for 10 years. We have 2 boys (8 and 4) and live in Grapevine Texas. I am a pilot for American Airlines on the Airbus 319. I got into triathlons a couple of years ago. My boss let me borrow his road bike and I liked it and I knew I could swim and run a short distance so I signed up for a local sprint triathlon in October 2018. Since then I have done another local sprint, Ironman 70.3 Texas and Ironman 70.3 Augusta. I have already training for my first full Ironman, which will be Ironman Texas in April 2021. I am enthusiastic about these challenges because I was overweight and out of shape and knew I needed to make life style changes quickly. My oldest son has ADHD and my youngest son has special needs and this is one of the ways of me showing them that you do not have to always be the best at something but you have to give you always give you best effort. They have seen me at times struggle with training and have helped me with it too. I would not be where I am in life without the love and support of my family.
