I am a mother of 2 young children, nurse manager, wife, and small business owner. I started triathlon in 2014, not knowing how to swim, bike, or run (properly, at least). I lost over 50 lbs and set my eyes on the goal of an IRONMAN. Within a year of starting, I was able to cross my first IRONMAN finish line. I have now completed several triathlons, including five 70.3 races, 3 full IRONMAN distances, as well as the Escape from Alcatraz. I work hard within my local community as well as through social media to inspire and encourage others, especially beginner women. Triathlon has helped me not only physically, but also has helped me with PTSD management. I plan to work toward USAT and IRONMAN U coaching certifications to give back to my local triathlon community through coaching and support. I am a local advocate working with our cycling advocacy groups and was an integral part of being successful in 2019 in getting a 3 foot safe passing law in place.
