Off-Day ActivityFirst coffee, then spending time in the mountains with friends, and then some good food and a beer.

I have been a competitive athlete as far back as I can remember first swimming then playing basketball and softball before moving into outdoor adventure and endurance sports after high school. In 2011 I did my first triathlon and I've been racing all distances of triathlon ever since. Some highlights over the last decade are competing in 7 iron distance events, 14 70.3's, 2 SwimRun races, and 6 ultra running events up to 100K.

I began mentoring other athletes as the president of the Asheville Triathlon Club and now I continue to use coaching as a way to share my love, passion, and knowledge of the sport with others. I have worked with both beginner and experienced athletes, helping them structure their training in a manageable, effective, and healthy way in order to achieve their goals, be it their first sprint triathlon or a 100K ultra running race.

In addition to coaching I am a 5th-8th grade science teacher, cross country coach at Warren Wilson College, and a former Outward Bound instructor of 12 years. When I am not training for triathlon I frequently head to the mountains to climb, hike, or ski. I am originally from Michigan now live in Asheville NC with my two sweet kitties.
