Hi, my name is Chris! I grew up in Colorado as a competitive swimmer, and got the chance to compete as a distance athlete for the University of Iowa from 2014-2018 while studying English and Film. During my four years with the Hawkeyes, I set a school record in the 400IM, and had a few other top three program performances in the 500free, 1000free, and 1650free. After my swimming career came to a close in 2018, I began looking for what was next and eventually landed on triathlon...little did I know it was about to consume the entirety of my future. After a winter of training, and seeing some results I began to process the idea of pursuing a career in the sport, and what it would mean to compete as a professional triathlete. They were big, scary thoughts, so I did my best to have them affirmed by training partners and a future coach, but by the beginning of 2020, I decided that long-distance triathlon was going to be my career path moving forward.

When I'm not training, I currently coach swimming and triathlon. I love working with other people, and hope to continue doing so into the future! Due to the pandemic, I have not been able to race this year, but everyone is in the same boat and I'm willing to be patient! My plans may have been pushed back, but I have been working as hard as I possibly can to make sure that I can make an immediate impact next season. I recently took part in a solo 70.3 time trial and was very happy to come in around 4:10. Looking forward to what the future brings, and can't wait to keep working towards my goals.
