I am a 48 year old actuary with a 23 year old son and 11 year old daughter. I've always been competitive my entire life. I was a dancer and cheerleader. I never swam. I never rode bikes. And I sure didn't run. After my daughter was born, I decided to start running to lose weight and fell in love with it. I had always wanted to do a triathlon so I said, why wait. I contacted a local tri club and jumped in with both feet. I did my first 70.3 that year and knew I was hooked. The next year I completed my first Ironman. I did my second Ironman the next year. I also became the president of my tri club. I love this sport and try to get everyone involved that I can. My favorite triathlon moment was watching my daughter cross the finish line in her first triathlon. After a year off with a shoulder injury and surgery, I was able to get back to racing in 2018 and finished Ironman Louisville. After COVID cancelled 2020 and surgery for a brain aneurysm in 2021, this year has been my comeback year. It was time to start on the bucket list races because tomorrow isn’t promised. I finished my first 50K at Zion, Escaped Alcatraz, and had a PR in Maryland as I completed my 4th Ironman. I look forward to 2023 and the opportunities it will bring.
