I've always been athletic, having competed in 100m and long jump events as a child / teenager. I was also an avid soccer, cricket, and netball player. I completed my first ever triathlon in 2019, IM Canada 70.3, training myself with YouTube videos and ad hoc swim lessons. I learned how to swim in 3 months as beforehand, I could not complete 25 yards without feeling exhausted. In 2021, I received a DNF in IM FL 70.3 as I had a panic attack in the water. Unfortunately, I also received a DNF in full IM FL on November 6th, 2021, which was my third ever triathlon and first full distance event. The race conditions proved too challenging for a newbie swimmer like me with the strong currents and chop, but I’ve already signed up for the 2022 race as I’m determined to cross that finish line! I have been using Infinit products since the beginning of 2021. I work for Amazon as a Sr. Product Manager, so time management is critical in trying to fit in everything I want to do both personally and professionally. I'd like to inspire others, particularly women of color, to compete in triathlon. It truly is an amazing sport with plenty to learn, but I'm just getting started myself :)
