IM 70.3 Musselman didn't disappoint

I had a great race!

IM 70.3 Musselman was a new race for Ironman in 2021.  The swim location was changed from when the event was private but if you were staying in town, transition was closer to the hotels (NICE).

The swim was pretty rough as the day started overcast and cool with a breexe blowing off the lake.  I had a good swim making it out of the water in my typical 27ish minutes.   Turned out, I was the fastest woman swimmer.

The bike was nice with some rolling hills but really nothing too difficult.  A lot of false flats to manage physically and mentally.  I drank my bottle of Infinite Go Far in addition to some water obtained from the aid stations.

The run was pretty tough, I ca't fib about that!  They changed the run course the day before the event due to a lack of volunteers making it 2 loops vs 1 big loop.  The challenge here was crossing rail road tracks FOUR times and having to run 2 pretty nasty hills twice.  Yes, I got stopped by the train.  Frankly it was a nice litle break for me as I was on the stuggle bus heading out on my second loop.  The 90 second break was exactly what I needed and they accounted for the time you were stopped by having timing mats before and after the tracks.  This was my fastest run ever in a half ironman!  Yahoo

This was a PR for me and I placed 2nd in my agre group to a former pro.  I was super pleased with my performance and the performance of my Go Far.
