10th in age group with an overall time of 5:51:15hrs. I used 2 bottles of Custom Blend Formula (500 calories) and one gel flask with Trip Wire that had 200 calories.

My 34th Ironman 70.3 is in the books. We were blessed with cooler than average temps but the trade off was lots of wind coming from the ENE. Swim was good but it felt long as I came out in 39 minutes. I guess the wind had something to do with it. The bike went well. Going east, headwind but the reward was riding south and west. My run was good until mile 7 where I had to do the walk, jog shuffle. 

This race had a special meaning as it was dedicated to Mike Greer who passed away last year. He and his wife Marti started Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon in Lubbock over 30 years ago.

All in all, I truly enjoyed the race. It was well attended, the race support by Ironman was great and the volunteers and spectators were fantastic.
