Team INFINIT

Sunny, Windy, Warm & Beautiful

My 10th participation and didn’t disappoint. New age group and was rewarded with a ??place.

Not much sleep the night before but all race preparations were on point. Like I always do for Half Ironmans, prepared two bottles of my Custom Blend with 250 calories each. I also had two gels for the run. Here's what went down: Swim 35 mins. First out of the water in age group. This is a comfortable swim at a lagoon with salty water since it's connected to the sea. Bike, 2:51 hrs. about 19mph. It was windy but the road surface was smooth and they closed the bike course to all traffic which is great. At that point, I was second in my age group. Run, 2:13hrs. about 10mins avg per mile. 3 loops of undulating terrain with several hills. It was downright hot as you can imagine. Total time was 5:48:20 hrs. I was happy with my performance and placing 3rd in the 65-69 age group. R&R for the next few days and then build up more strength and focus on the shorter distances like Olympics and Sprints. Onwards!
